I had to stop myself....my struggle with addiction. I'd like to think of myself as a good person with a problem.
This is one of the many self portraits I did while living in Marinette, Wisconsin.
Influenced by Lyndsay Harper, Jackson Pollock and watercolors. Electronic Imaging.
I thought I would share a quote from a fellow who bought a 30" x 45" canvas print of this piece.
"it gives me great joy. it's like a little streak of crimson red in a black and white movie. ....and I get great responses from visitors. One lady looked at it, said "ooo, he's angry," turned back, and asked "you're not angry, are you?"
...love it."

This artwork is really screaming at me. It totally got me, when I looked at the artists profile. I had to look at it.
I absolutely love the colors which give the artwork the intense feeling and emotion. To me it feels like rage. I love the red lines at the stomach because they underline that feeling.
The face also was executed very well. Together with the hands the emotion comes through very well - the expression was caught perfectly.
The background texture is nice. Personally I dislike the place between the head and the right hand because it distracts me.

Very strong image!
